As an abstract artist, I am inspired by the colours, texture and juxtaposition of urban and natural environments. I also appreciate the beauty of aging elements - rust on metal, patina on copper - mixed with the vibrancy of the botanical world. My painting process includes scraping and manipulating contrasting pigments with unorthodox tools and utensils. Each of my works are layers of several paintings built onto the canvas like an excavation site, encouraging a closer look to see what lies beneath.
Originally from San Francisco, I currently live and create my art in Vancouver, British Columbia.
